Give Thanksgiving an UPGRADE!
Thanksgiving Day can be stressful for many. As friends and family plan to arrive at your house, the day of or sometimes the week of, it can be difficult to think of ways to make the celebration memorable. Luckily I have some ideas to spruce up this classic holiday that will have your guests begging you to host next year.
A nice outdoor party and feast can be enjoyable if the weather allows it. Beautiful fall hues that surround you serve as decor and make you job a little easier. It would also eliminate the need to spend money on interior decor to give off the fall vibe. All you need for an outside feast is a table big enough to accommodate for your guests, chairs for the table, a table cover, and maybe some table decorations. Running to your local grocer to pick up some marigolds, sunflowers, or fall berries isn’t too difficult and would definitely step up the visual appeal. Hosting the party outside and away from the preparation in the kitchen would relieve the cook from added stress inside the house.
Whether the party is inside or outside, there are many different decorations you can easily make that go along with the autumnal theme. Pumpkin vases are a fun way to present flowers. After carving out a pumpkin, and collecting pumpkin seeds, you can place your floral arrangement inside. Another cute idea to spruce up the party space is a Thanksgiving banner. They serve as decor that can be kept up during the whole fall season and also a great background for pictures.
You can never go wrong with the classic Thanksgiving dishes like mashed potatoes, turkey and pumpkin pie, but one way to make the party memorable is to make some unique and delicious dishes. Stuffing is traditionally placed inside the poultry or meat, but another way to serve them is as an appetizer. Stuffing muffins take the traditional stuffing and put it into muffin form. This makes it easier for guests to munch on them and they are delicious. A quick search on google leads to many different recipes so go crazy! Casseroles are also very popular during the holidays, and there are many variations out there. Some notable mentions include a Green Bean Casserole with Onion Rings(yum), a Thanksgiving Pizza and a Brussels Sprouts and Bacon Casserole. Another fun idea for Thanksgiving meal items is a Pie Bar. A display that features all the pies your party has to offer. Some unique pie recipes that I found include Salted Caramel Pecan Chocolate Pie, Deep DIsh Dutch Apple Pie and an Irish Cream Pie which has whiskey. All recipes will be at the end, so be sure to check them out!
