With the summer heat weighing down upon us, travelers are looking for their next destination that will help them stay cool. From June to August, the best location that shies away from the triple-digit temperatures is none other than San Francisco, California. 

According to recent studies, San Francisco is the cultural, commercial, and financial center of California—tied with southern cities such as Los Angeles and San Diego. In terms of weather, temperatures reach average highs of 66 degrees with average lows of 54 degrees. It remains cloudy with partial days of pure sunshine. For those who hate the scorching heat, this is the place to be. And we can promise you can spend all summer here and never get bored. There are hundreds of places to go and things to see; you could eat out for every meal, every day, from June to August and you won’t go to the same restaurant twice! It is located about two miles off the shore of San Francisco, and to reach it you will have to take a ferry from there to get to Alcatraz. While the location is no longer an active prison home, you can take a tour of the entire island, from the prison itself to employee quarters.

The pier even houses a small aquarium, amazing restaurants, and shops where you can grab souvenirs for all your friends and family.

The structure was created in 1915 for the Panama-Pacific Exposition for artwork could be presented and displayed, but now it is home to new forms of art that capture the heart of the city.

The Exploratorium houses activities and experiments that allows visitors to step into the world of science, art, and human perception. Located on Pier 15, you should be prepared to spend at least half the day here. This museum is both educational and fun!
