Tip #1: Trial Run

If you are getting your hair professionally styled, do a trial run before your big day. At the appointment, make sure to bring loads of pictures for inspiration. That way, the stylist will have a good idea of your desired look.

Tip #2: Second Day Hair

Washing your hair a day before the wedding—instead of the day of—will increase the longevity of your hairstyle throughout the night. The natural oils in your hair will hold the style.

Tip #3: Hair Masks

Home remedies and easy DIY hair masks can help you transform your hair without the hassle or hefty price of a salon trip. Castor oil, jojoba oil and coconut oil are extremely moisturizing. Witch hazel helps with oil control, and the protein in yogurt promotes hair growth.

Tip #1 Moisturizer and SunScreen

Moisturizing your skin every night is an absolute must to certify a healthy and plump base for your makeup. It is essential to wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least thirty. By wearing sunscreen it will prevent sun damage and darkening of spots already on the body.

Tip #2: Spray Tan

If you are looking for a healthy glow or if you are getting married in the summer and want to cover up tan lines, a spray tan is a great solution. If you are considering getting a spray tan, it is important to test it out four to six weeks before the wedding. You’ll have enough time to figure out what shade works best for you.

Additionally, it is important to choose a salon that you trust, with people who care about the ingredients in their products. Nowadays, there are fully organic spray tans that are safe enough for pregnant women to receive. It is recommended you look into the formula of your spray tan before you decide to use it.

Tip #3: Healthy Diet and Water

Your inner health is reflected on the outside of your body. If you are eating a healthy diet and drinking enough water each day, your skin will have fewer problems than if you aren’t eating well and are drinking alcohol. If you lead an unhealthy lifestyle, you may see more problems with your skin, such as acne.

The recommended amount of water is around half a gallon a day, but oftentimes, we don’t drink nearly enough water as we should. By drinking the proper amount of water, you can reduce skin troubles and bloating. To ensure that you drink enough water each day, purchase a gallon water bottle on Amazon to keep track of your water consumption.

Tip #1: Test a Variety of Longwear Products

From mascara to foundation, there are countless products on the market that are advertised as waterproof or long-lasting. Your wedding is likely an all-day occasion, so you should test different types of longwear foundations, mascaras and eyeliners to see what formulas work best for your skin.

Tip #2: A Timeless Look

If you look at many wedding photos from the 1980s, you can almost immediately tell the pictures are from that era based on the brides’ blue eyeshadow and huge hair. There is nothing wrong with that, but when we look at these photos, they feel dated. To ensure a timeless look, play around with classic makeup rather than the current trends.

Tip #3: Get Color Matched

It is extremely important to find your correct shade of foundation and concealer. If you go to  Sephora or Ulta and ask for a beauty technician to match you, they will assist you so that you don’t need to spend time wandering the aisles and trying to guess your shade match.

Tip #4: Test the Amount of Makeup You Want to Wear

Some people can wear layer upon layer of makeup and their skin absorbs it, whereas others put on a little bronzer and blush and they look like they’ve gone overboard. It’s important to play around with the amount of makeup that looks best on your face. Ultimately, you want to look like you—just the most gorgeous you possible.

YouTuber and Makeup artist, Lisa Elrdige, recommends is practicing your wedding makeup and then wearing a white tee-shirt afterward. By wearing a white tee-shirt and your full face of makeup, you can tell if you’re too washed out or if your makeup is too heavy. Additionally, Elridge recommends taking photos with the flash on to see how your look comes out in pictures.

Wedding planning can be extremely stressful, and stress can have negative effects on the body. It can suppress the immune system and cause sleep issues.

It is important to take care of your mind and body, whether that means signing up for a workout class with friends, completing a guided meditation every morning or carving out time in the day to watch your favorite television show. Making time for yourself to relax outside of work and wedding planning will be extremely beneficial in the long run.
