How to look glowy and healthy!


Summertime is finally on its way, and with it comes the heat! With any change in the weather, it’s normal for your skin to behave a bit differently. For instance, my skin is very dry in the winter but can get oily in the summer. It’s important to recognize these changes in your skin and adjust the products you are using to prevent making your face more dry or more oily. Aside from switching up your products, summertime for most means more sunshine. And while we all love sunshine and its benefits, it can also have negative effects on your skin.

Here’s a tip: try to limit your makeup usage and look at your skin after a few hours. If your skin feels dry and tight later in the day, it’s a sign that you need to add moisture to your skin. On the flip side, if you notice that your skin is very shiny and oily, you may need to use products that help eliminate the extra sheen. Or maybe your skin feels fine! If it’s not too dry or doesn’t look too oily, continue with your normal skincare routine.

For my dry winter skin, I use a very heavy moisturizer each morning and night, along with other moisturizing products. But in the summer, I only have to use a lightweight moisturizer every evening and occasionally in the morning. The CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is a great lightweight moisturizer for summer.

Sunscreen is important to wear all year around, but especially in the summer when the UV Index can be above an eight.
