WHAT TO WATCH?

Summer 2021 is here, and with it comes a new line up TV to watch. Here are the () biggest shows coming out in June and July of 2021.

Sweet Tooth

Air date: Friday, June 4

The next comic book story to make its way to the screen is the Vertigo/DC comic Sweet Tooth. The story is set in a post apocalyptic world where human and animal hybrids have mysteriously emerged. A young hybrid deer-boy must travel across the ruins of what was once America, searching for answers and safety. Directed by Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Dawney, the show will surely impress comic, adventure, and fantasy fans.

The Bachelorette Season 17

Air date: Monday, June 7

Bachelor Nation is all the buzz with the news of the newest season of ABC’s The Bachelorette. Katie Thurston, one of the women from season 25 of The Bachelor, will star as the lead this season while getting to know 34 eligible men. Promising a season full of fun, drama, and romance, The Bachelorette season 17 is sure to impress fans of Bachelor Nation.

Loki

Air date: Wednesday, June 9

The next installment of the Disney+ Marvel TV series centers on the god of mischief himself. Tom Hiddleston resumes his role as Loki, the god of mischief, in an adventure with the Tesseract to alter human history. Marvel’s recent track record of stellar Disney+ TV shows promises a fun and mischievous adventure fans of the Marvel Universe are on the edge of their seats waiting to see.

Rick and Morty season 5

Air date: Sunday, June 20

The adult animated film series Rick and Morty has gathered a following in its 4 seasons, and this summer it will be back for a 5th. The science fiction sitcom style show revolves around the misadventures of Rick Sanchez, a mad scientist, and his grandson. The adventures Rick and Morty have in the show take place over different realities and other planets and dimensions. The show even has its own multiverse, with different versions of Rick and Morty existing in other universes.

Summer premier Riverdale

Air date: Wednesday, July 7

Based on the Archie Comics, Riverdale premiered in 2017 and since then has acquired a huge fanbase. The show, which airs on The CW, revolves around the mysteries and drama in the town of Riverdale. It follows the twisting stories of the classic comic characters Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, and Jughead Jones. While this is the summer premiere of the show and not the premiere of the season, fans will surely be happy to see its return.
