Megan Thee Stallion is a rising star who has proven she’s nowhere near her peak and continues to advance her career. The Houston rapper has had a huge year, and it looks like she intends to keep it that way.

She won big at this year’s Grammy awards; taking home the awards for Best New Artist, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance. She was also nominated for Record of the Year which is one of the more prestigious awards. The rapper also delivered a stellar performance of her songs “Body” and “Savage”, also joining Cardi B for a risque and controversial performance of “WAP”

However, Megan Thee Stallion was not always the star we know her to be now. Prior to her soaring to stardom the Houston-based rapper was a college student at Prairie View A&M University studying healthcare administration. During her time in college, she began to garner a social media following by sharing her raps and soon went viral with her 2016 cypher

Rapping isn’t the only thing Megan prides herself on. The female rapper has been using her platform for activism quite a lot as well. She’s been vocal in supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. She used her performance on Saturday Night Live to share her message against police brutality. She has also taken her activism to the streets, joining the Black Lives Matter protests in Hollywood in June of last year.

The Houston native also used her platform to organize a beach cleanup in 2019 after one of her fans urged her to raise awareness on climate change through her platform. When announcing the Santa Monica Pier beach cleanup to her Instagram followers she had this to say, “I’m about to get on my hot girl sh*t and start using less plastic and try to use the same water bottle — and I think I’m going to organize a beach clean up for all the hotties,”

Megan’s career is nowhere near reaching its peak, what we’ve seen so far is barely the tip of the iceberg for this rapper. She is definitely an artist you should keep your eye on.
