JUST HAVE ONE DECENT PHOTO OF YOURSELF
Scrolling. Scrolling. Scrolling. Huh, what’s this? An image of a man squatting in the middle of the street next to an unwashed car with prayer hands – interesting. A boy, sunburnt, wearing all camo with dirt on his face, holding a fish. “Eatin’ good 2night,” his caption reads. Now, the most iconic of them all: the after-gym picture, posing in your dirty bathroom, flexing your ‘guns’ and lifting your shirt. “Ultimate gym rat status,” he writes in the caption of his thirst trap.
Many women are bombarded every day with these posts that leave us wondering, what do guys really do on Instagram? Do they look at memes, do they save cute outfits, do they like other guys’ pics and why do all of them have the same three pictures?
The struggle we all have when trying to show our friend a picture of someone we are interested in can be quite embarrassing for some. Many a man has posted some of the notorious photos listed above but the real fun is attempting to convince your friends that “He’s better in person I promise” at some point we do start to question if the man clenching his jawline in the photo in front of us is, in fact, better in person.
Whilst doing research and asking many men what they do on Instagram and why they feel the need to neglect to post an actual decent picture. Some men are the exception, they post nice pictures with friends and family where we can clearly see their faces.
A basic rule of thumb while posting on Instagram just have one decent photo of yourself, just one simple selfie with your friend or hiking picture. Posting is simple but I feel the real question lies within the captions.
