Congratulations on being our Luxe Beauty of the month. Can you tell our readers about yourself?
KENNEDY: My name is Kennedy Jester. I am a current graduate of Bainbridge High School. I absolutely love hanging out with my friend and going to the beach! In my free time I enjoy working out and improving my tumbling skills.
NO: How has COVID-19 affected your daily life?
KENNEDY: COVID-19 has impacted my life in both a positive and negative light. Unfortunately I can not do things that I would normally do such as going to the beach, hanging out with friends everyday, or simply going to the mall. COVID-19 has also gave me time to spend with my family and I am very thankful for that!
NO: June is our “Luxe Summer” issue, how will you be enjoying your summer given the state of our country right now?
KENNEDY: Given the current state of our Country, I will be enjoying my summer with my family in quarantine.
NO: What are your plans for 2021?
KENNEDY: My plans for 2021 are to continue on the path of achievement I have set for myself. This includes, but is not limited to continued academic success, traveling, and setting new goals.
NO: Do you feel society still has a problem accepting us kurvy women as the definition of beauty?
KENNEDY: Society has been bamboozled by mainstream media for years with unrealistic ideals of who and what is beautiful! Although, there are many people who still believe the hype and strive for the proverbial perfect image, I do believe beauty should always lie in the eye of the beholder. Who still needs validation in 2020?
NO: Do you have a fashion tip to give our readers for summer?
KENNEDY: My number one summer fashion tip would have to be this: Dress for the body you have not the one you want!
NO: What is the one thing you would tell a young girl looking in the mirror who is having a hard time loving her kurves?
KENNEDY: First, love yourself! Second, do what you need to do for you to become the best version of yourself.
NO: What do you want your legacy to be?
KENNEDY: I want young ladies to look at my life and say, “wow, she set her goals and standards high and achieved each of them!”
