NO: Congratulations on being the Luxe Beauty of the month! Can you tell our readers a little about yourself?
MAKAGBEH: My name is Makagbeh Kromah. I was born in Guinea, Conakry but my parents are Liberian. I’m fluent in French and English. I also speak multiple dialects which are Mandingo, Mandinka, Susu and many more.
NO: Can you give me six words that best describe you?
MAKAGBEH: I am hard-working, energetic, honest, reliable, kind, and good-looking.
NO: Define the meaning of beauty in your own words.
MAKAGBEH: Beauty is a feeling that grows within yourself not around your exterior.
NO: How can we overcome the current perception of what the media portrays what beauty is?
MAKAGBEH: We can overcome it by giving chances to people that deserve to be the eyes of the media. I was once told to change my religion and skin tone, because I wanted to be a model. Positive and Negative qualities about yourself.
My positive qualities, I am a very competitive person. I am willing to learn and gain more skills in my profession. My negative qualities are, I am not going to change my look for anything or anyone in this life. I am not going to abandon my culture and tradition because of my profession.
NO: What is the one thing you would tell a young girl looking in the mirror who is having a hard time with their beauty?
MAKAGBEH: You are beautiful the way you are; Love the way God created you; He did it for a reason; Your beauty lies within you and once you start accepting it, you will shine like a sun.
NO: What do you want your legacy to be?
MAKAGBEH: My legacy is to create my own skincare products in Liberia Monrovia because I want my people to accept their inner beauty and believe that being dark is beautiful.
