DEVACURL IS A NO GO!!!!
The hair brand DevaCurl is facing heavy allegations as customers claim that DevaCurl has damaged their hair. Users of the hair brand say that after starting DevaCurl, they have experienced hair loss, dandruff, an inflamed scalp, loss of curl definition, and even loss of natural hair color. One woman said the product caused her hair to start turning grey.
DevaCurl is a hair brand that caters to women with curly hair and claims not to contain any damaging chemicals in its products. However, Stephanie Mero, former DevaCurl hairstylist, shared a video she titled “How I Went From Being a DevaCurl Stylist to a Victim Advocate.” She talks about how her clients complained about their hair thinning and then noticed negative changes to her hair. She also started a “DevaCurl hair and scalp issues” Facebook group that has since gained over 42,000 members.
She is not the only Youtuber to post a video about the effects of DevaCurl. Ayesha Malik also posted “Why I stopped Using DevaCurl,” which shows the damage to her hair as it looked vibrant and beautiful before she used DevaCurl. Malik warns people to stay away from the brand.
Mero has asked the FDA to recall the hair brand, more specifically the No-Poo line, but no recall has been done.
DevaCurl stands firm that there is nothing wrong with the products as they have tested everything rigorously and have found no problem. Despite the growing number of complaints, DevaCurl is adamant that there is no problem with the brand.
At this time, it is not recommended that women with curly hair use this hair brand or should, at the very least, keep an eye on the effects on their hair.
