NO: Thank you for being apart of our Holiday issue. What is your favorite holiday memory?
TC: My favorite Holiday memory is 2017 New Years Day. Not only is that a holiday but it’s also my birthday. My family, Best Friends and Significant Other surprised me with a party for my 40th Birthday. I hadn’t had a birthday party since I was kid. So they really got me good.
NO: What made you decide to become a model?
TC: I always wanted to become a model. I just never knew the right steps to make to become one. Growing up I always saw the petite models and never thought the opportunity would ever come until I tried out for Glynn Jackson’s hair show in 2012. He gave me my big chance to become that model I always dreamed of becoming. Thank you Glynn Jackson and the Dream team.
NO: Do you feel the society accepts kurvy women?
TC: I believe that society is just starting to accept kurvy women. Maybe because the women of today are more on the kurvy side and we as a society need to see more models in the industry that represent women in our size and larger.
NO: What is the one thing you would tell a young girl looking in the mirror who is having a hard time loving her kurves?
TC: Babygirl embrace your Kurves. God made you this way for a reason. It’s ok to be your size.
NO: 2020 is just weeks away! What are you looking forward to in the new year?
TC: I look forward to continued travel, new adventures and living life to the fullest. I also look forward to guiding others in achieving their dreams in the modeling industry.
NO: Do you feel we need to remove the word “Plus” from Plus Model and just be known as models?
TC: I believe that the word plus should be removed from Plus model because at the end of the day all model pretty much have the same desires of Print, Runway and to be signed or to become a designer and have their own brand.
NO: What are your views or thoughts about the current state of the plus size industry?
TC: To be real the plus size industry is growing but their are still negative energies that surround it. Stay in prayer and surround your self with people that carry good energy, people that encourage you, people that look out for you and those that don’t mind praying for you when you are down to your lowest point in your life.
NO: Can you define the word “ESSENCE” to you?
TC: My definition of Essences is a Beautiful Women at peace with herself and with God.
NO: What do you want your legacy to be?
TC: That everyone would remember me as a peaceful prayful soul, full of energy and love for those that surround themselves around her.
