Originally named Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, the 25 year old Afro Latina, stole the heart of music lovers with her single Bodak Yellow (Money Moves) which she released on 26th of June 2017, which put her on the second spot on the Billboard Hot 100. By September of that same year, she moved up the first position, making her the first female rapper to own the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
In 2018, things spiraled upward quickly after that, as she released her first album “Invasion of privacy”, on the 3rd of April 2018. This album had a total of a 100 million streams on Apple Music in a week, which made the first female artist with the most streamed album in a single week, in the history of Apple Music.
