Summer Fun in Florida!

Florida is one of the best places to be in the summer.  It’s a great time to get outside, explore the beautiful scenery and soak up the heat!  Here are a just a few favorites worth checking out.

Blue Springs
I’m sure the first thing that comes to everyone’s mind when it comes to Florida, is the beach.  But alongside all our amazing beaches here in Florida, there are also an abundance of beautiful springs scattered throughout the state, one of my personal favorites in Blue Springs in Central Florida.  With 72 degree water all year round, it’s the perfect way to cool down and relax on a hot summer day.

St. Augustine

Beautiful, historic St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States and offers some of the most interesting and beautiful must-see attractions.  With history everywhere, you can stop and see the Castillo de San Marcus, Old St. John’s County Prison (which is now a museum), the St. Augustine lighthouse, and so much more.  It is said that St. Augustine is also one of the most haunted cities, and there are several chilling ghost tours to check out if you like to be scared!  And if for some reason you still have left over time, there are of course amazing beaches, too.

Camping in the Keys

With average summer temperatures in the 80s, combined with the cool ocean breezes, camping in the keys during the summer is a great way to soak up the sun and cool off in the water.  There are a variety of state parks where you can camp right on the beach, and just back your car in and set up a spot.  Although there are plenty of campsites available, Florida State parks are much cheaper than private campgrounds.  One of the best parks (shown below) is Long Key State Park, and with a rate of only $36 per night for a campsite, what better way to spend your summer?
